I’ve had a look around for you and there are a couple of options for Christmas coloring fun. You can check out the online Christmas coloring free option or the ones that I prefer which include the free Christmas coloring book for kids.
This is a great deal for three reasons.
- It’s a multi-activity for the kids
- You get a Free Christmas coloring book
- You can get it FAST!
With Christmas fast approaching and the holidays at hand, kids need to be active. Give them something fun to do that is in line with the festive season. Having story time followed by drawing gives them the opportunity to expand on what they have read. This is great for the imagination and great for indoors if it is too cold outside.
3 Tips for Christmas Activities
I recommend you grab a couple of different books in the one purchase since they are so inexpensive and can provide fun for a substantial amount of time. You will want to invite a playmate over so they can do some coloring together.
My second tip is to make sure they are set up properly before you commence the activity or any activity.
If you are prepared, there is less chance of coloring on the floor, walls, or places you hoped would stay clean.
If you set the ground rules, help them set up and then let them go for it, you will keep the Christmas grinch in you at bay and the kids can have fun within set, fair boundaries.
My third tip is to get involved. Sometimes my kids love me to read to them or even color with them. Make a comment that you like a certain color in their picture and ask them what they think.
Whatever they decide to draw or however they color in, it’s their way so don’t be critical of their art and don’t correct it. When we are doing art here at home, we always ask if it is ok to contribute to someone’s piece of art before drawing on it.
You can take a theme out of the book and get some extra craft supplies so they can create something to go with their Christmas coloring.
If you opt for the Christmas app then you can still encourage them to do an activity offline that is in line with what they were doing online.
Physically drawing is still a skill that should be encouraged. Not everything should be digital but digital does have a place. You might want to load the Christmas drawing app onto a device that you can take out when you have a meeting. Your child can have some fun instead of squirming like a worm while they wait for you.
Kids love Christmas holidays and love putting up Christmas decorations but once that is done, having these activities planned for them makes the days even more fun.
